The autonomous export control body, Etablissement autonome de contrôle et de coordination des exportations (EACCE), known as Morocco Foodex, is planning to unveil a digital platform by 2025 aimed at enhancing Morocco’s export potential. This initiative is highlighted in the report on public institutions and enterprises (EEP), accompanying the upcoming Finance Bill for the next fiscal year.
According to the report, which is available on the Ministry of Economy and Finance’s website, Morocco’s 2025 action plan includes participation in international trade fairs, the launch of a B2B mission in East Africa to promote Moroccan seafood, and a targeted mission for Eastern European importers. These efforts align with Morocco’s broader strategy to increase its global footprint in agricultural and fishing exports.
Additionally, the plan outlines the creation of a unified architectural design for Morocco’s exhibition pavilion, as well as the promotion of the sustainability label “Morocco Foodex.” The promotional budgets earmarked for the years 2025, 2026, and 2027 are set at 120 million dirhams (MDH) annually.
In 2023, the EACCE’s promotional budget was fixed at 109 MDH, with an execution rate of 94%. Projections for 2024 indicate an increase in promotional spending, bringing the total to 120 MDH.
The report further recalls that in 2023, Morocco’s agri-food exports reached a volume of 4.02 million tonnes, valued at over 83.14 billion dirhams (MMDH). The agri-food sector remains a critical pillar of the nation’s economy, generating substantial foreign currency revenue and representing 19% of the country’s total exports by the end of 2023.
