Rabat is gearing up to host the biggest national eSports event Morocco has ever seen. From July 2 to 6, the Moulay Abdellah Sports Complex will transform into the epicenter of competitive gaming during the second edition of the Morocco Gaming Expo. The announcement was made Monday by the Ministry of Youth, Culture, and Communication, which is spearheading the initiative through its communications division.
Qualifiers for the event kicked off online on April 22 and will continue until June 19, offering players across the country a shot at reaching the finals. The top contenders will then go head-to-head in a live showdown spanning five days, with fans expected to bring the energy and excitement that are quickly becoming hallmarks of Morocco’s growing gaming culture.
This year’s competition lineup features some of the most popular titles in the eSports world, including Valorant, Free Fire, EA SPORTS FC 25, and Street Fighter 6. At stake is a total prize pool of 500,000 dirhams, raising the stakes for both seasoned pros and rising stars.
Ahead of the finals, a special preview event will take place on June 28 and 29, aimed at media professionals, content creators, and influencers. Attendees will get an exclusive look behind the scenes, meet the finalists, and explore the dynamics of a sector that’s rapidly gaining momentum in the region.
But the Morocco Gaming Expo is about more than just competition. It also serves as a platform for industry dialogue, offering dedicated spaces for professionals to connect, attend talks, and engage in discussions on the cultural, technological, and economic dimensions of gaming.
Building on the success of last year’s debut edition—which drew more than 45,000 visitors and 3,000 players during the qualifiers—the event is cementing its role as a key fixture in the country’s digital entertainment landscape.
