Morocco launches investment week to engage global diaspora

From August 11 to 15, Morocco’s Regional Investment Centers (CRIs) across all 12 regions will spotlight the country’s global diaspora during a dedicated week designed to strengthen ties between Moroccans living abroad and their homeland. Organized by the Ministry of Investment, Convergence, and Policy Evaluation, this initiative aligns with the annual Marhaba 2025 operation, which facilitates the return of Moroccans from around the world during the summer season.

The program is rooted in royal directives that call for a more active engagement of the diaspora’s expertise, capital, and entrepreneurial initiatives. It aims to turn emotional connection into practical collaboration by showcasing investment opportunities, simplifying procedures, and promoting local development. A key component will be the presentation of tools and incentives introduced in Morocco’s new Investment Charter, which is designed to streamline processes, attract productive investment, and highlight the unique potential of each region.

Over five days, each CRI will host interactive sessions, project showcases, and face-to-face consultations with teams ready to assist diaspora investors. The idea is to create a clear and accessible roadmap for launching ventures in Morocco, with each region unveiling its own curated portfolio of high-potential local projects. This decentralized approach allows for a tailored experience, reflecting the specific economic strengths of each province.

Beyond networking, the event has a concrete purpose: to identify viable investment pathways and encourage the diaspora to actively contribute to local economic growth. It’s about converting goodwill into action—transforming identity and belonging into job creation and regional development.

While this week is a symbolic highlight, the ministry emphasizes that Morocco’s Regional Investment Centers remain open year-round to support all investors, including those based abroad. This special event is simply an intensified effort to deepen that engagement and further tap into the potential of Moroccans around the world.
