The government has officially approved the creation of an Industrial Acceleration Zone (IAZ) in Benguerir, a strategic initiative expected to generate 12,000 jobs, both directly and indirectly. This project, endorsed during a government council meeting, is part of a broader national push to strengthen economic and industrial development.

Spanning 138 hectares, the zone aims to become a key industrial hub focused on green energy, sustainable technologies, electric battery manufacturing, metallurgy, mechanical industries, and the automotive sector. By attracting investment in high-value, innovative industries, it is set to play a crucial role in Morocco’s industrial transformation.

With 5,000 direct jobs and 7,000 indirect positions projected, the initiative is expected to enhance the economic appeal of the Rehamna province and the Marrakech-Safi region. It aligns with a broader strategy to accelerate industrialization and create skilled employment opportunities.

Located in the Oulad Hassoune Hamri commune, the Benguerir IAZ is designed to support Morocco’s national ambitions for sustainable development and industrial innovation. Its strategic positioning and focus on green technologies make it a vital asset in bolstering the country’s competitiveness on the global industrial stage.
