Morocco launches real-time weather app ahead of AFCON 2025

With just weeks to go before the kickoff of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, the country’s National Meteorology Directorate has rolled out a new digital platform called “Match Weather” to support the tournament in real time.

Designed to keep pace with the day-to-day action of the competition, this online service offers precise weather forecasts tailored to the time and location of each match. Users can access up-to-date information on temperature, wind speed, humidity, potential rainfall, and any weather alerts relevant to the stadiums and host cities.

Free and open to everyone, the tool is meant to serve not just tournament organizers and official delegations, but also accredited journalists and the general public. The app was developed to meet the organizational demands of a major continental event, under the guidance of the Confederation of African Football.

This launch reflects the broader commitment of Morocco’s meteorological authorities to ensure the event runs smoothly—not only in terms of logistics, but also when it comes to safety and comfort for players, officials, and fans alike.

The service is available through the official website of Morocco’s national weather agency.
