As Morocco prepares to host the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), the country has announced that it will waive visa fees for football fans traveling to attend the tournament. The move, unveiled on Tuesday, November 11, by the local organizing committee, is part of a broader strategy to streamline travel and enhance accessibility for supporters across the continent.
Visa applications will be processed exclusively through the official Yalla mobile app, which was developed specifically to centralize all AFCON-related procedures. The app will serve as a one-stop platform for fans to request their electronic visa, also known as an AEVM (Electronic Travel Authorization), which is typically required for travelers from several African countries, including Algeria, Burkina Faso, Cape Verde, Gabon, Niger, Senegal, Togo, and Tunisia.
In addition to visa applications, the app allows users to apply for a Fan ID, which is mandatory for stadium entry. Yalla also functions as the official ticketing platform and provides a comprehensive guide for visitors, offering key logistical details and travel tips.
To ensure a smooth experience for everyone attending the tournament, the platform features round-the-clock customer support in Arabic, French, and English—accessible via phone or email.
The organizing committee praised the enthusiasm and commitment of fans, national delegations, and tournament partners, reiterating its goal to deliver an inclusive and seamless event. The 2025 AFCON is scheduled to run from December 21, 2025, to January 18, 2026, and is expected to draw tens of thousands of spectators to stadiums across Morocco.
