Tourism in Morocco reached a new milestone with 10 million visitors by the end of July 2024, marking a 15% increase compared to the same period in 2023, according to the Directorate of Studies and Financial Forecasts (DEPF) under the Ministry of Economy and Finance.
In July 2024 alone, Morocco welcomed a record 2.6 million tourists, representing a 20% increase. This achievement set a new record for the first seven months of the year, reflecting the growing appeal of the “Morocco” destination.
The number of overnight stays in classified accommodation establishments also saw significant growth, rising by 8.4% by the end of June 2024 to reach 12.7 million overnight stays. Notably, the second quarter of 2024 recorded a 13.1% increase in overnight stays, totaling 7.2 million.
Tourism revenues continued their upward trend, closing the second quarter of 2024 with a 9.4% increase. This brought overall revenue growth to 2.3% by the end of June, recovering from a 4.2% decline in March 2024 and building on a substantial 69.2% increase recorded a year earlier.
