Morocco shines in Africa’s 2026 list of most trusted leaders

As leadership and integrity become central to shaping national futures, a new benchmark is emerging across Africa. The 2026 edition of the “100 Most Reputable Africans” has been unveiled, spotlighting individuals whose impact is rooted not in fame or wealth, but in meaningful action, consistent values, and real influence. This annual list breaks away from the usual chase for celebrity status or material success, instead celebrating people whose lives reflect purpose and long-term credibility.

Curated by the Global Reputation Forum in collaboration with Reputation Poll International, this recognition aims to underline a powerful message: reputation is a long-term asset, built through consistent responsibility and public service. Those selected represent an Africa that is grounded in principles, demanding of itself, and capable of inspiring far beyond its borders.

Morocco stands out prominently on the list, showcasing both the depth and diversity of its talent. Among the key figures is Ryad Mezzour, Minister of Industry and Trade, applauded for his efforts in boosting industrial competitiveness and driving innovation. His work reflects a forward-thinking approach to economic resilience.

Business leadership is also well represented. Moncef Belkhayat, head of the Dislog Group and HASOFA Invest Holding, earned recognition for building high-performing and ethically grounded companies. Alongside him is Hasnae Taleb, an international finance expert whose entrepreneurial vision and financial acumen have made her a standout voice in her field.

Civil society also finds strong representation. Hind Laidi, founder of the NGO JOOD, has been acknowledged for her hands-on humanitarian work supporting vulnerable populations. In the world of sports, open-water swimmer Hassan Baraka and national football coach Walid Regragui symbolize a dynamic and excellence-driven Morocco.

Science and technology play a prominent role as well. Professor Hajar Mousannif, a specialist in artificial intelligence, and Dr. Youness Ahallal, a pioneer in robotic surgery, are both commended for pushing the boundaries of medical and digital innovation. Environmental advocacy is also highlighted through the work of Hakima Haiti, known for her dedication to ecological issues.

Media and influence are represented by Abderrazak Yousfi, whose work at the intersection of investment and communication, particularly through the platform “The Bridge,” continues to expand the reach and impact of African narratives.

Altogether, this year’s list paints a rich picture of a continent shaped by its cultures, its youth, and its global diaspora. It includes iconic figures like Dr. Magdi Yacoub, a trailblazer in cardiac surgery, and Her Royal Majesty Olori Atuwatse III, Queen Consort of the Kingdom of Warri, who balances heritage with modern leadership.

The full list is available on the Reputation Poll International website. More than a simple ranking, it serves as a powerful testament to the individuals who, often quietly, are helping build a stronger, more respected, and more credible Africa.
