Morocco now knows who it will face in the Round of 16 of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations: the national team will go head-to-head with Tanzania on Sunday, January 4 at 5:00 p.m., at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat.
The Atlas Lions advanced comfortably from Group A, finishing top of the table after an impressive run that included two wins—2-0 over the Comoros and 3-0 against Zambia—followed by a 1-1 draw with Mali. With seven points from three matches, Morocco secured first place in the group and a spot in the knockout stage.
Tanzania, on the other hand, managed to squeeze into the next round after finishing third in Group C. With two draws and a loss, they collected just two points but still qualified among the best third-placed teams.
The 2025 Africa Cup of Nations continues in Morocco and will run through January 18.
