Morocco is set to make history in the world of football as it prepares to host the World Football Summit Rabat 2025. Scheduled for April 9 and 10 at the Mohammed VI Polytechnic University campus, this major event will bring together key figures from the football industry to discuss the future of the sport in Africa and beyond. As the first edition of the summit to be held on the continent, it highlights Morocco’s growing influence as a major player in global football.

Organized in partnership with EVOSPORT, a subsidiary of UM6P, and in collaboration with the Royal Moroccan Football Federation, the summit will welcome representatives from FIFA, the Confederation of African Football (CAF), national federations, professional clubs, and industry experts. The goal is clear: to position football as a driver of cultural, economic, and social development in Africa. Key topics will include the evolution of sports infrastructure, youth training programs, the economic impact of sports tourism, and the rise of women’s football.

In recent years, Morocco has emerged as a football powerhouse. Its historic performance at the 2022 World Cup and its role in co-hosting the 2030 World Cup are testaments to this progress. Under the leadership of King Mohammed VI, the country has made significant investments in modernizing its infrastructure and strengthening its football ecosystem. Today, it stands as a model for football development across Africa.

Jan Alessie, co-founder of the World Football Summit, emphasizes that Africa represents a rapidly growing market with vast untapped potential in media rights, training, and infrastructure development. The Rabat summit will provide a unique opportunity for international investors to connect with local stakeholders and explore new avenues for growth.

Ismail Lyoubi, CEO of EVOSPORT, highlights the summit’s significance for Africa’s sports ecosystem. Hosting the event at UM6P will foster collaboration between research, education, and the sports industry, paving the way for sustainable and structured development.

With over 25,000 participants in previous editions, the World Football Summit has established itself as a key event in the football business world. The Rabat edition marks a turning point for Africa, signaling its intent to secure a stronger presence in the global football economy. Once again, Morocco positions itself at the forefront, driving this transformation forward.
