Morocco recorded the best overall mobile internet performance among a group of comparable economies in early 2026, according to new data from nPerf.
The country scored 76,177 nPoints between January and April, narrowly ahead of Vietnam on 75,212. Tunisia came third with 58,583, almost 18,000 points behind the leader.
The ranking compares eight countries with similar GDP per capita and measures real user experience across speed, stability, browsing and video streaming.
Morocco and Vietnam pull ahead
Morocco and Vietnam form a tight leading pair, separated by fewer than 1,000 points. Tunisia completes the top three, creating a small cluster of countries with relatively close mobile performance.
Behind them, the gap widens sharply. Jordan scored 46,819, Bolivia 32,848, Egypt 31,507, Venezuela 28,735, and Sri Lanka finished last with 15,152 nPoints.
That means Sri Lanka’s score is less than a quarter of Morocco’s, highlighting a wide digital divide among economies with similar income levels.
What the score actually means
The overall nPerf score combines download speeds, website responsiveness and video streaming quality. It reflects everyday use such as loading a web page, watching a film online or holding a stable video call.
Higher scores typically mean fewer interruptions when streaming high definition video and faster loading times on social media.
Countries scoring above 75,000 nPoints offer a mobile experience close to that of developed markets, with smooth browsing and high quality streaming.
Big differences despite similar incomes
Most countries in the study scored below 50,000 nPoints, showing large differences in mobile infrastructure despite similar economic conditions.
Sri Lanka illustrates the gap. Users there are more likely to struggle with basic tasks such as watching videos without buffering or downloading files quickly.
The data covers the period 1 January to 29 April 2026 and provides a snapshot of current mobile performance trends. Without major network changes, nPerf expects these patterns to continue through the rest of the year.
