Morocco’s football body says the U23 team will no longer play Saudi Arabia in a friendly on March 26. Instead, it has changed its plans to keep the team preparing properly.

The match was called off as travel across the Middle East has been disrupted by the ongoing US-Iran-Israel war. Several games and training camps have been affected. No specific reason was given for this match, but the wider situation has made organising fixtures difficult.

Morocco’s U23 team will now play two friendlies against Ivory Coast’s U23 side at the Mohammed VI Football Complex in Salé. The games are set for March 26 and March 30, helping the team stay match-ready.

Other youth teams are also in training. The U20 side will play Union Touarga Sport and Club Omnisports de Meknès in two friendlies during a camp from March 23 to March 31 at the same venue. These matches help coaches assess players against senior club teams.

The U23 team is currently without a permanent head coach after Mohamed Ouahbi moved up to manage the senior national team.
