Morocco have been awarded a 3–0 win over Senegal in the Africa Cup of Nations 2025 final after the Confederation of African Football (CAF) ruled that Senegal forfeited the match.

CAF’s Appeals Committee announced the decision on Tuesday, reversing an earlier ruling and accepting an appeal from the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF).

In a statement, CAF said: “The Appeals Jury of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) has decided, in application of Article 84 of the Africa Cup of Nations regulations, to declare the Senegal national team as having forfeited the final of the TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations Morocco 2025, with the result officially recorded as 3–0 in favour of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF).”

The committee said Senegal broke tournament rules under Articles 82 and 84. It also said the Senegalese Football Federation was responsible for the actions of its team.

Because of this, Morocco were officially declared winners after Senegal withdrew from the final. All other requests linked to the case were rejected.

The committee also made decisions on other incidents from the match.

Morocco midfielder Ismael Saibari will now serve a two-match suspension, with one of those matches suspended. A previous fine of $100,000 has been cancelled.

A fine against the Moroccan federation over the behaviour of ball boys was reduced to $50,000, but the federation is still held responsible.

CAF kept a separate $100,000 fine against Morocco for entering the VAR review area. Another fine, linked to a laser incident, was reduced to $10,000.

All other requests related to these incidents were turned down.
