Morocco is set to double the number of jobs in the aerospace sector by 2030, said the Minister of Industry and Commerce, Ryad Mezzour, on Tuesday in Farnborough, southwest of London.

“According to the Vision of His Majesty King Mohammed VI in the aerospace field, Morocco has established itself as a significant player in the sector, demonstrating its capabilities at all levels of production,” Mezzour stated in an interview with MAP agency, on the sidelines of the Farnborough International Airshow, held from July 22 to 26.

Capitalizing on its talent, logistical, industrial, and technical competitiveness, Morocco is striving to upgrade its aerospace industry as per the High Instructions of King Mohammed VI, noted the minister.

“This translates into a new industrial era focused on sovereignty, the creation of quality jobs, and an overall upgrade,” he added. He emphasized that the airshow showcased Morocco’s ambition, which is now shared and supported by both national and international stakeholders aligning with the Royal Vision.

This ambition includes doubling the available job positions to offer better opportunities to the increasingly well-trained and well-equipped young talent in Morocco.

“All the companies already established in Morocco have expressed their intention to double their capacities, while many new players are quickly moving to set up operations in Morocco to address supply chain issues, leveraging Moroccan competitiveness and talent,” he assured.

Additionally, Mezzour announced that Morocco will host its sixth Marrakech Air Show starting October 30, and the Farnborough Airshow was an opportunity to invite several key players and partners to participate.

“Given the expressed intentions, we can already expect this event to be a success,” he concluded.

The Moroccan Investment and Export Development Agency (AMDIE), in collaboration with the Moroccan Aerospace Industries Group (GIMAS), the Ministry of Investment, Convergence, and Policy Evaluation, and the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, organized Morocco’s participation in this major aerospace industry event.

Morocco’s 180 m² pavilion hosted business meetings with international institutions and global aerospace industry players. The aim was to highlight Morocco’s expertise and strengthen partnerships with key industry stakeholders.
