Morocco’s most celebrated equestrian event is preparing to mark a major milestone. From July 5 to 13, the Horse Week returns to Dar Es Salam in Rabat for its 40th edition, held under the High Patronage of King Mohammed VI. This anniversary year promises to blend tradition, sport, and celebration in an event that continues to be a cornerstone of the country’s equestrian culture.
The spotlight will be on the Moroccan Show Jumping and Dressage Championships, hosted on the iconic track of the national equestrian complex. Over the course of nine days, twenty events are scheduled, offering a full range of technical challenges and competitive formats. Some of the action will unfold under the stars, with seven evening sessions starting at 9 p.m., creating a vibrant mix of high-level competition and festive energy.
This year’s contenders have earned their spots through a season-long qualifying circuit that crisscrossed the country. From promising young riders to seasoned athletes, the lineup reflects the strength and dynamism of Morocco’s equestrian scene, which continues to grow in both talent and reach.
Organizers have made accessibility a priority. Admission is free, and shuttle buses will run from Rabat, Salé, and Témara to make it easier for spectators to attend. On-site, visitors can enjoy a village area with food stands, children’s activities, and vendor booths—turning the championship into a full-day outing for families and fans alike.
Behind the event is the Royal Moroccan Federation for Equestrian Sports, which has played a central role in shaping the nation’s equestrian landscape. Established in 1958, the federation today unites 48 clubs and counts more than 11,000 registered members. Its influence extends beyond competitions to training and innovation in the sport, an impact recognized internationally when it received the FEI Solidarity Award from the International Equestrian Federation in 2016.
A detailed schedule of the competition will be released soon, and all events will be streamed live on the federation’s official website.
