The Fes Marriott Hotel Jnan Palace has a new general manager. Nabil Azerfi has taken over the role as the five-star hotel moves ahead with its recent renovation. Azerfi has worked in the hotel industry for several major international and regional groups, including Palaces & Group, Boudl Hotels & Resorts, Hilton International, Mazagan Beach Resort and Louvre Hotels.
He joined Marriott International in 2021 as director of rooms operations. He was part of the team that opened the Rabat Marriott Hotel.
Marriott promoted him to executive assistant manager in 2024. His work included managing teams, improving hotel operations and maintaining guest service standards.
Azerfi has also been involved in the hotel industry at regional level. He served as secretary general of the Association Régionale de l’Industrie Hôtelière (ARIH), where he worked on tourism development and supported local hotel operators.
The Fes Marriott Hotel Jnan Palace covers 6.5 hectares and has 244 rooms and suites. The property also has several restaurants and dining areas, an outdoor swimming pool, gardens and facilities for conferences and events.
Madaëf, the tourism investment arm of CDG Group, owns the hotel. Marriott International operates it.
The hotel has recently completed a major redesign by architect Paul Sartres. The new design combines modern interiors with traditional Fassi craftsmanship.
The lobby now includes local artwork, more natural light and a lobby bar serving teas and pastries.
The central Patio Andalous has traditional moucharabiehs, hand-carved wooden ceilings and zellige tiles made by local artisans.
The hotel has also added a retail gallery with brands including Glam Corner and Swiss Arabian, as well as jeweller Calirra.
Guests can now use the Croon Lounge, which hosts live music, and the EME Lounge, which has a private club-style setting.
Landscape designer Akram El Harraqui redesigned the outdoor walkways, linking the hotel’s indoor areas with the swimming pool and gardens.
