Orange Morocco leads digital safety campaign for schools

A major event focused on tackling bullying and cyberbullying brought together more than 400 participants at Euromed University in Fez. Organized by Orange Morocco in collaboration with a range of national institutions, the initiative was part of the company’s broader #ForGoodConnections program aimed at fostering safer digital environments for young people.

The event was designed as a forum for discussion and awareness, bringing together educators, students, parents, civil society leaders, experts, and representatives from government agencies. Key institutions such as the Ministry of Education, the National Police, the Observatory for the Rights of the Child, the Digital Development Agency, and the ReSIS Center were all present. Together, they shared insights, personal stories, and actionable strategies to address the growing challenges of online harassment.

Rather than a traditional conference, the format mimicked a talk show, creating an engaging space that interwove expert commentary, real-life testimonies, and performances by local children. The day culminated in an interactive outdoor session called the Digital Workshops. In these role-playing activities, participants explored the mechanisms of cyberbullying to better understand how it unfolds and how it can be prevented.

For Orange Morocco, the goal is clear: to harness digital technology in ways that make the internet safer and more inclusive. CEO Hendrik Kasteel emphasized the company’s commitment to protecting children in the digital age, highlighting the shared responsibility of all sectors in meeting this challenge head-on.

Looking ahead, the #ForGoodConnections initiative aims to train over 6,500 teachers and reach 2,200 middle schools by 2026. Plans are already in motion to scale the program nationwide, with the goal of embedding digital safety as a permanent fixture within the education system.
