Oshkosh Defense, the American defense industry giant, has won a contract to deliver ultra-powerful HET A1 tractors and specialized 635NL trailers to the Moroccan military. These vehicles, designed to transport the heaviest tanks, will be a key part of Morocco’s ongoing military modernization strategy.
The HET A1 tractors are specifically built for the transport and recovery of the most substantial military equipment, such as tanks, armored vehicles, and recovery vehicles. These heavy-duty transporters will play a crucial role in supporting Morocco’s modernization efforts, particularly concerning its fleet of M1 Abrams tanks.
“We are excited to collaborate with Optimum Vehicle Logistics, our exclusive distributor in Morocco, to provide the Kingdom with additional wheeled tactical vehicles, supporting its M1 Abrams modernization efforts,” said Pat Williams, Vice President of Programs at Oshkosh Defense.
Oshkosh Defense is recognized globally for its expertise in designing, producing, and maintaining top-tier military vehicles, mobility systems, and technological solutions.
The delivery of the HET A1 systems is scheduled for summer 2025. However, Oshkosh Defense has not disclosed the exact number of tractors and trailers ordered, nor the total value of this acquisition for Morocco’s Royal Armed Forces (FAR).
