A new executive board has been established following the annual general meeting on June 27 for the professional association Les Entreprises du Médicament au Maroc (LEMM). Sanaa Sayagh, representing Roche, has been elected president, becoming the second woman to hold this position.

The new executive board also includes Amine Sekhri (AstraZeneca) and El Mehdi Rakhi (Merck Sharp & Dohme) as vice-presidents, Adrien Delamare-Deboutville (Sanofi) as secretary general, and Mehdi Seqat (Janssen) as treasurer. Fadela Benjelloun remains in her role as executive director.

The new president, Sanaa Sayagh, expressed her honor at the trust shown by the association’s members and reaffirmed LEMM’s commitment to the development of the health sector in Morocco. She emphasized the importance of equitable access to medicines and biomedical research.

LEMM, which primarily comprises foreign pharmaceutical companies, has 18 active members and represents about 60% of the sector’s revenue. The association plays a key role in the local manufacture of medicines and the export of health products.
