Renault Group Morocco has solidified its position as a key player in the automotive industry in 2024, reaffirming its strategic role within the global operations of the Group. With a record-breaking production of over 413,000 vehicles, the Tangier and Casablanca plants have set new benchmarks for excellence. The Tangier facility achieved an impressive 312,381 units, reflecting a 9% increase compared to the previous year, while the Casablanca plant, SOMACA, crossed the 100,000-vehicle milestone for the first time, posting a 7% growth.
On the commercial front, Renault Group Morocco continues to dominate the domestic market with a commanding 38.4% market share. The Group’s flagship brands, Dacia and Renault, secured the top two spots in sales, registering a notable 12.9% growth from 2023. Five of the Group’s models rank among Morocco’s best-selling vehicles, with the Dacia Sandero and Dacia Logan leading the pack, further reinforcing the popularity of “Made in Morocco” models among consumers.
The year 2024 has also been marked by significant industrial milestones, with the launch of strategic new projects. The Tangier plant commenced production of the Dacia Jogger, available in both conventional and hybrid versions, while the SOMACA factory introduced the all-new Renault Kardian SUV, designed for both domestic and export markets. Renault Group Morocco continues to expand its industrial ecosystem, surpassing its local sourcing targets and integrating new components, achieving an impressive local integration rate of 65.5%, which continues to rise steadily.
Beyond its industrial and commercial achievements, Renault Group Morocco remains committed to sustainability and corporate social responsibility. Through the Renault Morocco Foundation, the Group has made significant contributions to education and road safety, impacting more than 20,000 beneficiaries in 2024. The road safety awareness program “TKAYES SCHOOL” has been extended to more schools across the country, while initiatives to rehabilitate schools and provide vocational training opportunities aim to promote youth inclusion. In response to the Al Haouz earthquake, the Group played a crucial role in resettling affected families, working alongside the Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity and the CMA CGM Foundation.
Looking ahead, Renault Group Morocco has ambitious plans for 2025, targeting an annual production capacity of 500,000 vehicles. A major highlight will be the launch of the Mobilize Duo, the first 100% electric vehicle to be manufactured at the Tangier plant. Additionally, the Group is set to inaugurate a dedicated engineering center to foster local talent and drive technological innovation in the region.
On the commercial front, Renault Group Morocco continues to captivate Moroccan consumers with a diverse and high-performing product lineup. Dacia remains the market leader for the 15th consecutive year, holding a 25% market share, while Renault achieved a record year with 28,348 units sold, making significant strides in the eco-friendly vehicle segment. The rising demand for electric and hybrid models highlights the Group’s commitment to supporting Morocco’s transition to sustainable mobility.
