Risma has sold the Sofitel Casablanca Tour Blanche to a subsidiary of the Pickalbatros Group for MAD 450m. Risma said the sale is part of a “dynamic management strategy” to adjust its investments while staying active in key urban areas.
Risma continues to operate the Novotel Casablanca City Center with 281 rooms and the Ibis Casablanca City Center with 266 rooms.
The Novotel will undergo a full renovation. Risma is also looking for land to build a new luxury hotel in Casablanca. The company expects a one-off net gain of MAD 160m in 2026. The sale should also reduce operating costs.
The deal comes as Morocco prepares for the 2030 FIFA World Cup and sees rising tourism investment.
The buyer recently opened the Palais des Roses Resort in Agadir, signalling expansion in Morocco.
Risma recently confirmed its partnership with Accor after a visit by chief executive Sébastien Bazin. Plans include opening the Sofitel Tangier and launching a tourism training academy. Hilton plans to more than double its presence in Morocco with 15 new hotels.
Tourism growth has increased after the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, won by Morocco in January 2026.
Founded in 1993, Risma operates 23 hotels in 11 Moroccan cities.
