Royal Air Maroc is preparing to take a major step forward in its global expansion strategy, with a bold wave of new international routes set to launch in 2026. The national carrier plans to significantly broaden its reach across Europe, Africa, and the Americas, further cementing Casablanca’s status as a key intercontinental hub.
The announcement came from RAM CEO Hamid Addou, who described the move as a pivotal milestone in the airline’s growth plan initiated in 2023. Over the past two years, the company has added around ten new aircraft to its fleet, stepped up operations to high-priority destinations, and launched nearly twenty new international routes.
The next phase of this expansion includes at least nine additional direct connections. Starting in April 2026, Royal Air Maroc will begin flights from Casablanca to five new cities: Pointe-Noire in the Republic of the Congo, Tripoli in Libya, Beirut in Lebanon, and the Spanish cities of Bilbao and Alicante. Italy will also see expanded service, with a new route to Verona launching on June 20, adding to the seven Italian destinations already in RAM’s network. In France, the city of Lille will be added in July.
Two headline-grabbing destinations are also on the horizon: Saint Petersburg will join the network in January 2026, while Los Angeles – marking a major addition to the airline’s U.S. presence – will begin service in June.
These new routes will be supported by a broader enhancement of long-haul operations. Frequencies on key intercontinental lines – including São Paulo, Miami, Washington, and Dubai – are set to increase as part of the ramp-up.
RAM’s expanded international reach is backed by the arrival of new long-haul aircraft featuring modern cabins, upgraded inflight technology, and a comfort standard in line with leading global airlines. These improvements are designed not only to elevate the travel experience but also to position Royal Air Maroc as a serious player on the world aviation stage.
This latest chapter in the airline’s development reflects Morocco’s broader ambition to become a regional aviation powerhouse and support the country’s tourism and economic growth. Tickets for the new routes will go on sale beginning December 15 through all regular booking channels.
