Royal Air Maroc Launches New Rabat-Dakhla Route to Boost Domestic Connectivity
Royal Air Maroc (RAM) has announced the launch of a new direct flight route connecting Rabat and Dakhla, marking another step in its efforts to strengthen its domestic network. Starting January 15, 2025, this new route will operate twice weekly, on Wednesdays and Fridays, offering travelers a convenient link between Morocco’s capital and the renowned southern coastal city.

According to RAM’s official statement, flights from Rabat will depart at 6:50 PM, arriving in Dakhla at 9:30 PM. Return flights will leave Dakhla at 10:10 PM, landing in Rabat at 12:25 AM.

The round-trip ticket price for economy class has been set at 2,000 dirhams, a figure agreed upon by RAM and the Dakhla Oued-Eddahab region, ensuring affordability for travelers.

The Rabat-Dakhla route is part of RAM’s broader strategy to expand its domestic network, aligning with its development plan. The initiative stems from a partnership between RAM and the Dakhla Oued-Eddahab region, aimed at improving air connectivity and boosting the region’s national and international appeal.

Renowned for its stunning natural landscapes and growing tourism sector, Dakhla has become a pivotal destination in Morocco’s southern provinces. This new connection is expected to enhance accessibility and promote the area’s tourism and economic potential.

RAM CEO, Hamid Addou, emphasized the airline’s dedication to supporting the economic and tourism growth of Morocco’s regions. “The launch of this route significantly strengthens Dakhla’s connectivity and the southern provinces overall,” he stated, highlighting RAM’s role as a key driver of development and mobility across the country’s twelve regions.

This new route complements RAM’s existing twice-daily flights between Casablanca and Dakhla, further connecting the northern and southern cities of the kingdom.

The Rabat-Dakhla route aligns with the objectives outlined in RAM’s agreement with the Moroccan government, signed in July 2023. This contract underscores a commitment to enhance domestic air travel, connect remote regions, and promote domestic tourism.

Through this initiative, RAM continues its mission of bridging Morocco’s regions, reducing geographic isolation, and encouraging economic and cultural exchanges.
