Ryanair, the popular low-cost airline, has just opened a new route linking Girona, in northeastern Spain, with the Moroccan city of Béni Mellal. This new air connection will operate three times a week, according to Elena Cabrera, the airline’s director for Spain, Portugal, France, and Morocco. Cabrera made the announcement during the unveiling of Ryanair’s growth plan at Girona-Costa Brava Airport.

The addition of this route is part of a broader strategy to diversify Ryanair’s destinations from Girona, which now include Moroccan cities such as Marrakech and Béni Mellal. “We are committed to continuing the development of this airport, with the aim of reaching three million passengers,” Cabrera stated.

Ryanair has ambitious plans for summer 2024, expecting to break records by operating from 12 Moroccan airports. The airline aims to transport over 5 million passengers to, from, and within Morocco, marking a 31% increase in growth.
