Seven South Korean startups will show their technology at GITEX Africa Morocco 2026 in Marrakech from 7 to 9 April. The trip is organised by the Korea-Africa Foundation to help Korean companies find partners and customers across Africa.

The delegation is led by former South Korean National Assembly Vice-Speaker Ju Young Lee. The foundation worked with PEN Ventures and IMPACT Lab to pick startups whose products have already been tested in real situations.

The companies cover healthcare, finance, cybersecurity, AI and farming.

Healthcare firms include Bhome Gen, which has a tool to detect infectious diseases, and Cryo H&I, which makes systems that produce liquid nitrogen for medical and farming use in places with limited infrastructure.

MoneyGuard Service offers smart contracts for personal and small business deals, while Sparrow Co. focuses on protecting software during development.

Agriculture and AI companies Paiptee, Deepvisions and Modigence Vision will show tools for remote poultry farm management and advanced monitoring using AI and 3D cameras.

KAF Director Jongkil Lee said companies must adapt their products to local conditions to succeed in Africa.

The visit follows the first Korea-Africa Summit in 2024, which set plans for cooperation in minerals, energy and digital technology. Another meeting of foreign ministers is planned in Seoul in June 2026.

The foundation was created in 2018 under South Korea’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs. It recently launched a programme to help 15 startups expand into African markets, including renewable energy projects in South Africa and Kenya and ageing-related technology in Egypt.

The delegation sees Marrakech and Morocco as a good entry point into Africa because of its location and growing tech scene.

Earlier participants have already made deals. Livestock tech firm Bodit has started pilot projects with Moroccan farms. Edtech company Dabida signed a $200,000 export contract after a previous GITEX event. Since 2023, the foundation has supported 35 startups entering African markets.

Visitors can meet the group at Stand 22C-10 near Hall 21 at the Place Bab Jdid venue, where founders will give live demos and discuss partnerships.
