Chinese electric carmaker Xpeng has officially arrived in Morocco, opening its first showroom in Casablanca Finance City in partnership with local distributor SMEIA. The 500-square-metre space has interactive displays, test-drive areas, and charging spots.

Xpeng is starting with two electric SUVs: the G6, aimed at performance, and the G9, a luxury model with advanced tech. Both come with smart AI systems, self-driving assistance, and software updates over the air.

Reda Ezzouine, Brand Director of Xpeng Morocco, said: “Today we are opening the first XPENG showroom in Morocco, in Casa Finance City. XPENG is a brand with an artificial intelligence DNA.” He added that more showrooms will open across Morocco by the end of the year.

On the models, he explained: “The G6 comes in three versions, from standard to performance, up to 486 horsepower. The G9 also has three versions, up to 575 horsepower.” Prices start at 417,800 MAD for the G6 and 662,000 MAD for the G9, with the top G9 version costing 770,000 MAD. All purchases include a free charging station.

SMEIA, which already distributes BMW, MINI, and Land Rover in Morocco, brings strong support and service for luxury cars, helping Xpeng reach high-end buyers.

Morocco is pushing for cleaner energy, aiming to get 52% of its electricity from renewables by 2030. Xpeng’s arrival fits into this shift, as well as its wider plan to expand across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.
