Construction is moving swiftly on the new factory of South Korean group SEOUL, right in the heart of the LOGINTEK industrial and logistics zone in Settat. For Karim Zidane, the Minister Delegate in charge of Investment, this project is more than just a new facility—it’s a strong signal that international investors trust Morocco’s expertise and the promise of its young workforce.
During a visit to the site on Thursday, the minister praised the initiative as a model for sustainable, globally oriented industrial development. He pointed out that this investment stems directly from a promotional tour conducted in South Korea in November 2024, designed to showcase Morocco’s economic advantages to key Asian decision-makers.
The partnership agreement signed in Seoul, followed by a series of technical consultations, helped highlight Morocco’s stability, its modern infrastructure, and the skill level of its youth. These factors played a decisive role in selecting Settat as the launchpad for this industrial venture.
SEOUL, a global leader in the production of eco-friendly straws, aims to serve a market of nearly 2.5 billion consumers worldwide. The new factory in Settat is expected to create 300 direct jobs and several hundred indirect positions, with a strong emphasis on recruiting local talent. Moroccan engineers have already undergone specialized training abroad to prepare for the start of operations.
According to Samir Filali Chahad, CEO of ZINAFRIK Développement, the SEOUL project marks a major step forward in reinforcing LOGINTEK’s global ambitions. Promoted as the country’s first fully integrated private industrial and logistics hub, LOGINTEK offers a multifunctional platform that combines industrial infrastructure, logistics hubs, administrative services, and tech clusters all in one location.
Strategically located at a major crossroads—30 kilometers from Mohammed V Airport and 50 kilometers from the Port of Casablanca—the zone benefits from excellent multimodal connectivity. It’s linked by the A7 highway, National Road 9, and a railway that runs along its northern edge, ensuring smooth logistics throughout the value chain.
LOGINTEK also stands out for its high-end facilities. These include a bonded dry port, a dedicated innovation technopark, an international TIR area, and a single-window administrative center housing customs, food safety authorities, banks, insurance companies, and freight agents. The zone also features a business center, polyclinic, data center, hotel, shopping mall, and mosque—creating a complete, ready-to-operate ecosystem for businesses.
Looking ahead, the zone expects to generate between 12,000 and 15,000 direct jobs. It already hosts companies from multiple countries, underlining its growing role as a key driver of industrial and logistics development in the Casablanca-Settat region.
