Stellantis Morocco and CARE Morocco have joined forces to introduce Child Step, a program aimed at improving access to preschool education and literacy for young mothers in marginalized urban areas around Kenitra.

The initiative will provide 300 children aged 3 to 6 with access to early childhood education, while 50 mothers will receive literacy training. Additionally, 150 parents will participate in awareness sessions designed to help them better support their children’s schooling.

In a country where illiteracy remains a barrier to social inclusion and many children are at risk of dropping out, this project seeks to offer practical solutions to strengthen school attendance and parental involvement in education.

“Education is a key driver of social inclusion, and this initiative aims to provide children with an environment that fosters learning,” said Yves Peyrot des Gachons, a representative of Stellantis Morocco.

Hlima Razkaoui, director of CARE Morocco, emphasized the vital role of parental engagement:
“A child’s education is deeply connected to parental involvement. This program equips families with practical tools to support their children’s academic journey.”

Beyond its immediate impact, Child Step aims to serve as a pilot project that could be replicated in other vulnerable urban and rural areas. By collaborating with education experts and local stakeholders, the program seeks to promote school retention and equal opportunities for all children.
