Stellantis has announced the completion of its acquisition of the remaining 49% of Sopriam, previously owned by Al Mada. This milestone marks a significant step in Stellantis’ strategy to fully integrate its import and distribution operations in Morocco.
As of January 2025, all Stellantis commercial activities in Morocco—spanning renowned brands such as Peugeot, Citroën, DS Automobiles, Fiat, Fiat Professional, Abarth, Jeep, and Alfa Romeo—are consolidated under the legal entity Stellantis Maroc, formerly known as FCA Maroc.
This acquisition follows a structured two-phase plan unveiled in July 2024. The first phase saw Stellantis gain majority control of Sopriam, with a complete buyout of 100% of the company finalized at the start of 2025. This move underscores Stellantis’ commitment to enhancing its operational efficiency and market presence in Morocco, a key market in its global strategy.
The integration of Sopriam positions Stellantis to leverage Morocco’s growing automotive sector, enabling streamlined operations and a stronger foothold in a dynamic and competitive market. This consolidation is expected to bolster the company’s ability to deliver its diverse range of vehicles to Moroccan consumers while driving growth across its portfolio.
