Patients in Northern Morocco can now benefit from robotic surgery, thanks to Oncorad Group, which has opened the first system in Tangier.
The move follows success in Casablanca, where over 400 operations have been done with a similar robot. The technology helps surgeons work more precisely, make smaller cuts, and help patients recover faster.
The system gives doctors a detailed 3D view and robotic arms that can rotate fully, letting them reach tricky areas that are hard with regular surgery. Patients usually experience less bleeding, smaller scars, and shorter hospital stays.
Tangier’s cancer clinic now has a setup that allows local surgeons to work with remote experts in real time. This means patients don’t have to travel far for top-quality care.
Oncorad plans to expand robotic surgery across Morocco and strengthen the country’s digital health system. This builds on a 2025 test where a surgeon in Tangier successfully operated on a patient in Casablanca over a secure online link.
The Tangier clinic focuses entirely on cancer care, covering everything from diagnosis to treatment and follow-up.
