The much-anticipated 20th edition of the Mawazine Rhythms of the World Festival will take place from June 20 to 28, 2025, in Rabat, according to an announcement by the Maroc Cultures Association. Under the High Patronage of King Mohammed VI, the festival remains true to its original mission: to make global cultures accessible to all Moroccans, ensuring that the event is inclusive and open to everyone.
Once again, the festival promises to be an essential cultural gathering, with 90% of attendees enjoying free access. The performances will embody values of peace, openness, tolerance, and mutual respect, making the event a beacon of cultural unity.
“For this new edition, one of the world’s largest cultural festivals guarantees a high-quality lineup full of surprises for music and culture lovers. Attendees can expect performances from global and Arab stars, celebrated names, rising Moroccan talent, and iconic musical figures from all five continents,” the association stated.
The previous edition of the festival, held in 2023, attracted over 2.5 million spectators over nine days across various stages in Rabat and Salé.
Founded in 2001, Mawazine Rhythms of the World has become a must-attend event for music lovers across Morocco. With over 2 million attendees at each of its recent editions, it is now considered the second-largest cultural event in the world.
Spanning nine days each year, Mawazine delivers a rich and diverse lineup, featuring both global superstars and rising Arab talent. The festival transforms the cities of Rabat and Salé into vibrant stages for exceptional encounters between audiences and renowned artists.
Mawazine is deeply committed to promoting Moroccan music, with more than half of its program dedicated to showcasing homegrown talent. Upholding the values of peace, openness, and respect, the festival offers free access to the majority of its audience, ensuring that cultural accessibility remains a core priority.
Beyond its cultural impact, the festival plays a significant role in boosting regional tourism and fostering a thriving entertainment industry in Morocco.
The organizing body, Maroc Cultures, was founded in 2001 with the mission of ensuring high-quality cultural and artistic activities in the Rabat-Salé-Zemmour-Zaër region. In line with the development policies of King Mohammed VI, the association brings this mission to life through Mawazine and other multidisciplinary events, including conferences, art exhibitions, and concerts.
