University Mohammed VI Polytechnic (UM6P) organized the “Exploring Digital Public Infrastructure for Morocco” conference on its Rabat campus on January 23, 2025.

This event, co-organized by the UM6P Digital Ecosystem Office and the Moroccan Foundation for Preschool Education (FMPS), with strategic support from Google Cloud, aimed to explore the opportunities offered by Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) in the Moroccan context.

Based on scalable and interoperable systems, these infrastructures are recognized for their
ability to drive innovation, support economic growth, and ensure universal access to public
services. The conference highlighted the transformative impact that DPI could have on the
digitalization of public services in Morocco. It also addressed the role of global institutions in supporting digitization initiatives, drawing inspiration from international best practices such as India’s Aadhaar and UPI programs, which have proven effective in promoting inclusion and transparency.

The event provided a platform to discuss how DPI could benefit Morocco, emphasizing tailored solutions and the involvement of local startups. Key themes included financial inclusion, education, healthcare, commerce, and mobility while integrating sustainability and accessibility dimensions.

Discussions also explored the use of artificial intelligence technologies and the adoption of open standards. Google Cloud’s Gemini-Powered DPI-In-A-Box, designed to deploy interoperable and AI-driven solutions rapidly, was presented as an example of innovation.
