Casablanca is set to host the official launch of Women in AI Morocco, the national chapter of the global nonprofit dedicated to advancing women in the field of artificial intelligence. The initiative will be unveiled on December 5 at the Women in AI Morocco Summit 2025, held at the city’s Technopark—a symbolic venue for Morocco’s growing digital ambitions.
This new chapter aims to strengthen the role of women in AI by building a robust network focused on education, research, mentorship, and responsible innovation. The presence of Amal El Fallah Seghrouchni, Minister Delegate for Digital Transition and Administrative Reform, signals how closely this effort aligns with Morocco’s broader national digital strategy.
The project fits within the framework of Maroc Digital 2030, the country’s flagship program to position itself as a regional technology hub. The launch of Women in AI Morocco is not just about representation—it’s about fostering leadership, promoting ethical and inclusive AI, and boosting international cooperation in a rapidly evolving sector.
Leading the new chapter is Dr. Sofia Ghacham, who brings both experience and vision to the role. As founder and president, she is focused on positioning Morocco as a key player in artificial intelligence both on the African continent and globally. Central to her strategy is the creation of a strong and sustainable network that bridges local talent with international expertise.
The summit is expected to draw key voices from Morocco’s digital ecosystem, as well as international experts from across Africa, the United Arab Emirates, and the United States. Representatives from other Women in AI chapters across Africa and the Middle East will also be in attendance. Organizers hope the event will serve as a vibrant platform for collaboration, connecting emerging female talent with decision-makers and institutional partners.
