The Moroccan Capital Market Authority (AMMC) is once again participating in the World Investor Week (WIW) for the eighth consecutive year. This international campaign, initiated by the International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO), aims to promote financial literacy and raise awareness among the general public about the importance of smart investing.

First launched in October 2017, WIW has grown to include over 100 jurisdictions worldwide. The 2024 edition will spotlight key topics such as investor resilience, fraud prevention, digital finance, and sustainable finance.

As part of its 2024-2028 strategic plan, the AMMC has made financial education a central tool for boosting the capital market’s growth. By improving the public’s understanding of capital market concepts, the AMMC aims to mobilize savings more effectively and ensure the protection of investors.

For this year’s World Investor Week, the AMMC has rolled out an ambitious program with both broad-reaching initiatives and more targeted actions. Highlights include:

  • A national radio campaign running from October 14 to November 12, 2024, where educational messages will be broadcast across the country’s major stations.
  • The release of new educational materials, including a special edition of the Investor Guide focused on mutual funds (OPCVMs), and a brochure offering tips on how to safeguard yourself as an investor.
  • The launch of the second edition of the comic strip contest, encouraging creative ways to engage with financial concepts.
  • Awareness messages shared across social media platforms to broaden outreach and impact.
