Moroccan literary critic and playwright Bachir Kamari died Thursday at the age of 70 following a long illness, his family has said.

Author of several books and publications, Kamari was a professor at the Faculty of Letters and Humanities of Kenitra. He also taught contemporary literature at the University Mohammed V in Rabat. In 1976, he joined the Morocco Union of Writers as a member of the head office.

His works were mainly devoted to literature, translation, theater and cinema.
