Raja Casablanca triumphed over Mouloudia Oujda with a decisive 3-0 victory in the final match of the Botola Pro D1 “Inwi” season, held on Friday at the Honour Stadium in Oujda. This win secured Raja Casablanca the 2023-2024 national championship title, marking a historic moment for the club.

With this victory, Raja Casablanca amassed 72 points, edging out their closest rivals, AS FAR, who finished with 71 points despite their 2-0 win against FUS Rabat on the same day. This narrow lead was enough to clinch the top spot in the league standings.

This championship marks Raja Casablanca’s 13th title in their illustrious history, adding to their previous victories in the 1987-1988, 1995-1996, 1996-1997, 1997-1998, 1998-1999, 1999-2000, 2000-2001, 2003-2004, 2008-2009, 2010-2011, 2012-2013, and 2019-2020 seasons. This achievement ties them with AS FAR as the second most successful club in the league, trailing only Wydad Casablanca, which holds 22 titles.

Raja Casablanca’s unbeaten run throughout the season, consisting of 21 wins and 9 draws, was a testament to their dominance under the guidance of German coach Josef Zinnbauer. The team scored a total of 52 goals and conceded just 15, showcasing both offensive prowess and defensive resilience.

For much of the season, Raja Casablanca played catch-up to AS FAR, maintaining their composure and persistence. Their breakthrough came in the 29th matchday when they overtook AS FAR after a crucial derby victory over Wydad Casablanca (1-0) and a draw between AS FAR and Moghreb Tétouan (2-2).

Against Mouloudia Oujda, a team relegated to the second division, Raja Casablanca reaffirmed their superiority and invincibility, sealing their first league title since the 2019-2020 season. This triumph is a crowning glory for a season that kept fans on the edge of their seats until the very end.

With the national championship secured, Raja Casablanca now aims for a double, with their sights set on the Botola-Coupe du Trône. The team has reached the semi-finals of the Coupe du Trône and will face Mouloudia Oujda on June 25th at the Grand Stadium of Agadir.

Furthermore, Raja Casablanca aspires to make a significant impact in the African Champions League, seeking to extend their success beyond national borders and dominate the continental football scene.
