Morocco’s rising stars head to Singapore for 2025 Golf World Stage

Morocco’s men’s and women’s amateur golf teams have officially secured their spots at the 2025 World Amateur Team Championships, which will take place in Singapore at the prestigious Tanah Merah Country Club. The Royal Moroccan Golf Federation announced the news on Thursday, marking another milestone in the country’s growing presence in the international golf scene.

By earning this qualification, Morocco joins a select group of 36 nations that will compete in one of the most important global events for amateur golf, scheduled for the fall of next year. This achievement is the result of strong performances by Moroccan golfers in the latest World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR), as published by the International Golf Federation on July 2.

The Moroccan women’s team will compete for the Espirito Santo Trophy from October 1 to 4, while the men’s team will take part in the Eisenhower Trophy from October 8 to 11. This marks the second time in a row that both Moroccan squads have qualified for these prestigious team world championships, a testament to the country’s steady rise in the sport.

The latest success builds on Morocco’s breakthrough performances in 2023 in Abu Dhabi, where both teams posted their best results to date—finishing 24th in the men’s competition and 23rd in the women’s event. Those results signaled a new chapter for Moroccan golf, one that continues with this fresh qualification for the global stage.

Morocco will also stand as the sole representative from the Arab world at this year’s championships, carrying not only its national colors but also the hopes of an entire region. With this dual qualification, the country aims to further strengthen its momentum in amateur golf and solidify its place on the international scene.
