Hundreds of Moroccans living abroad gathered on the shores of the Marchica lagoon in Nador Friday night for a vibrant celebration hosted by Bank of Africa. The evening blended music, nostalgia, and national pride, all tied to the annual Throne Day holiday that honors Morocco’s monarchy and deep cultural heritage.
The event featured live performances from Rachid Lamrini and Abdelkader Ariaf, who energized the crowd with a mix of traditional Moroccan sounds and classic eastern melodies. Their music brought together families and friends visiting from across the globe, creating a warm and emotional atmosphere filled with memories and shared roots.
For Bank of Africa, this summer gathering has become more than just an annual concert—it’s a commitment to maintaining strong ties with the Moroccan diaspora. Mohamed Zoubir, the bank’s regional director for the Oriental area, explained that the initiative is part of a larger effort to nurture emotional and cultural connections with Moroccans living abroad. Beyond the music and festivities, the bank is focused on fostering meaningful relationships through shared values and personal interactions.
Positioning itself as a socially engaged institution, the bank has developed a summer program specifically tailored to the needs of Moroccans residing overseas. This includes not only events like the one in Nador, but also customized financial services and guidance designed to support their unique situations.
Mounir Jazouli, the bank’s head of communications, emphasized that this celebration is just one piece of a broader campaign tied to Throne Day. The goal is also to inform and engage the diaspora about investment opportunities back home, offering hands-on assistance to those interested in contributing to Morocco’s economic development.
Among those in attendance was Ibrahim El Wahi, who lives in Belgium. He praised the initiative, noting that it went far beyond symbolic gestures. “This kind of event proves the bank is serious. It’s not just about talk—they’re building real relationships with their clients,” he said.
The night wrapped up with a festive raffle, rewarding several lucky participants and closing the evening on a cheerful note. For Bank of Africa, it was a fitting way to end a night rooted in unity, culture, and celebration.
