A new chapter is opening in relations between China and Morocco with the signing of a friendship cooperation agreement between the city of Chengdu and the Africa–China Cooperation Association for Development. The agreement was formalized during the cultural and tourism event “Chengdu, More Than Just a Panda,” hosted at the China Cultural Center in Rabat.
The partnership is designed to strengthen exchanges in tourism, culture, and people-to-people connections. It signals the start of closer collaboration built on shared values of openness and creativity.
On the sidelines of the ceremony, Boushiba Nasser, founding president of the Sino-African Investment Group, delivered a lecture titled “The Chinese Model Seen by a Moroccan Over Thirty Years.” Drawing on three decades of personal experience in China, he highlighted three driving forces behind the country’s rapid development: consistent long-term planning, empowering economic and social actors, and heavy investment in research and human capital.
According to Nasser, these pillars resonate with Morocco’s own ambitions—as well as those of many African nations—that seek to foster prosperity through innovation and creativity.
