With just 100 days to go before kickoff, the organizers of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations are setting the stage for the most digitally driven edition of the tournament to date. On Friday, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) and Morocco’s Local Organizing Committee unveiled a new mobile app designed to enhance the fan experience and streamline access to the event.
The app, named “Yalla,” will be available starting September 25 and will serve as a central hub for all ticket holders. Fans will be required to create an account on the platform to obtain a mandatory Fan ID, which will grant them access to stadiums and official fan zones throughout the competition.
Beyond its access function, the app will offer a tailored experience for international visitors by including a dedicated e-visa feature, allowing fans to complete entry procedures online. It will also provide real-time updates, exclusive content, and personalized services—all aimed at making the 2025 tournament the most connected in AFCON history.
In a separate announcement, Royal Air Maroc, the tournament’s global partner and official airline, confirmed a major expansion in flight capacity to accommodate the expected surge in demand. Over 660 additional flights will be scheduled, marking a 50% increase. Special travel packages are also in the works for African diaspora fans passing through Casablanca, allowing them to turn layovers into match-day experiences.
Morocco will host the competition from December 21, 2025, to January 18, 2026. This will be the second time the country hosts the continental tournament, the last being in 1988. Organizers are positioning this year’s edition not just as a major sporting event, but as a showcase for innovation, fan engagement, and the growing intersection of football and digital technology.
