Chery brings its super hybrid lineup to Morocco

At a high-profile event held at the Four Seasons Hotel in Casablanca, Africa Motors, a subsidiary of Auto Hall Group and the official distributor of Chery in Morocco, introduced the new Chery Super Hybrid lineup. The unveiling included three models—the Tiggo 4 Cross HEV, Tiggo 7 Pro PHEV, and Tiggo 8 Pro PHEV—marking a strategic move to make hybrid mobility more accessible to Moroccan consumers while delivering premium quality and cutting-edge technology.

Chery’s global momentum shows no signs of slowing down. The Chinese automaker secured the 233rd spot on the 2025 Fortune Global 500 list, leaping 152 places from the previous year—a reflection of its fast-rising influence in the automotive world. With over five million vehicles now exported globally, Chery stands as China’s number one car exporter. In the first half of 2025 alone, the company sold approximately 1.26 million vehicles abroad, representing a 14.5% year-over-year increase. The previous year, 2024, saw Chery hit a record 2.6 million global sales, up 38% from 2023, fueled by booming demand for electrified models.

This remarkable growth is anchored in a bold technology-driven strategy. Chery has made massive investments in research and development, prioritized rigorous safety testing under extreme conditions, and launched its proprietary CSH platform—short for Chery Super Hybrid. This new lineup, now making its debut in Morocco, is the result of that innovation engine.

Leading the new range is the Tiggo 4 Cross HEV, a compact hybrid SUV designed for everyday urban life. Priced from 229,000 MAD, it delivers a combined output of 211 horsepower and comes with safety features that include up to seven airbags on premium trims. The model offers practical luxury touches like an electric sunroof, ambient lighting, offline voice assistant, and wireless charging. Marketed as one of the most affordable hybrid SUVs in its class, it’s tailored for cost-conscious drivers who want both style and efficiency.

Next up is the Tiggo 7 Pro PHEV, built with versatility and long-distance travel in mind. Starting at 309,000 MAD, it boasts an impressive driving range of up to 1,200 kilometers, accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 8.4 seconds, and supports fast charging—reaching 80% in under 20 minutes. With panoramic 540° imaging, advanced voice command systems, a premium 8-speaker Sony audio setup, and generous cabin space, it targets families seeking both comfort and performance.

At the top of the lineup sits the Tiggo 8 Pro PHEV, a flagship SUV that blends high-end comfort with cutting-edge hybrid tech. It offers the same extended range of up to 1,200 kilometers and accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.5 seconds. Starting at 369,000 MAD, the Tiggo 8 Pro PHEV is designed for larger households with its 7-seat layout (5+2 configuration), panoramic sunroof, dual-pane sound-insulating windows, 12-speaker Sony audio system, and advanced safety with up to nine airbags. This model aims to deliver a premium experience without compromising on sustainability.

With this latest launch, Africa Motors is doubling down on its ambition to lead the hybrid segment in Morocco. The company’s goal is clear: to boost Chery’s market presence while offering Moroccan drivers hybrid SUVs that are as smart and safe as they are affordable.

Africa Motors CEO Mr. Benmassi described the rollout as a key step in their broader mission. “Introducing the Chery Super Hybrid lineup reflects our commitment to providing sustainable, practical, and technologically advanced mobility solutions for Moroccan drivers. Through Africa Motors, we want to reinforce Chery’s reputation as an innovative and trustworthy brand in this market.”

Echoing that message, Mr. El Battahi, Commercial Director of Chery Morocco, added, “These three new hybrid models are our direct response to a rapidly evolving market. Our focus is on creating a driving experience that’s modern, connected, and secure—while making hybrid technology more attainable than ever.”
