The Morocco Royal Tour delivered one of its most thrilling moments yet on Friday, as the spotlight turned to the Dar Es Salam arena for the prestigious Princess Lalla Amina Grand Prix. A packed crowd looked on as this key event of the 2025 tour’s second leg more than lived up to expectations, bringing together top-tier talent and heart-pounding competition.
Out of the field of elite riders, five managed to deliver double clear rounds. But it was Saudi Arabia’s Abdulrahman Al Rajhi who found the perfect blend of speed and control. Riding Heartbeat W, Al Rajhi claimed victory with a blistering time of 41.02 seconds. Fellow Saudi rider Abdullah Al Sharbatly, aboard Alamo, came in just behind him with a time of 41.60 seconds, while Switzerland’s Edouard Schmitz rounded out the podium on Quno, clocking 42.42 seconds.
For Morocco, Ghali Boukaa gave the home crowd plenty to cheer for. With his trusted mare A Kyss, Boukaa delivered a flawless first round in 76 seconds. He pushed even harder in the second, finishing in an impressive 40.48 seconds. Unfortunately, a single fault at the final jump kept him off the podium. Still, having already claimed this Grand Prix title in 2022, Boukaa reaffirmed his position as one of Morocco’s leading showjumpers.
The awards ceremony, led by Charifa Lalla Soumaya El Ouazzani, underscored the growing prestige of this event. Year after year, the Princess Lalla Amina Grand Prix continues to stand out as a highlight of the Morocco Royal Tour, attracting some of the biggest names in international show jumping and reinforcing Morocco’s place on the global equestrian stage.
