Morocco Floods: Al Barid Bank Waives Fees

Al Barid Bank and its subsidiary Barid Cash have launched emergency measures to support people affected by recent floods in several regions of Morocco.

The group said it aims to ensure continued access to basic banking services in hard-hit areas.

All withdrawal fees have been suspended for residents in affected regions. The waiver applies to transactions made at Al Barid Bank branches and across the Barid Cash network.

The bank is also offering up to a two-month deferral on mortgage and consumer loan repayments. Requests from individuals and business owners will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

To improve access, the group has deployed mobile branches to shelters and temporary accommodation sites. It said it is closely monitoring its ATM network and supplying machines with cash, especially in remote or difficult-to-reach areas.

Digital banking services remain available around the clock. A dedicated customer service channel has been set up to handle requests from floods victims and speed up processing.
