Sofrecom has named Stefan Ionescu as Managing Director of Sofrecom Services Maroc.

The company said Ionescu has strong international experience from his work within Orange Group. He most recently served as Vice President of Shared Network and Services Operations, where he led projects focused on improving operations, driving change and developing telecom and IT services.

Over the years, he has managed teams from different countries and helped put in place new solutions across the Group. He is also the co-founder of the Leaders in Tech community, which works on supporting talent and sharing knowledge in the technology sector.

Ionescu holds degrees in telecom engineering and business strategy. Sofrecom said his experience will help strengthen its work in Morocco, especially in improving services and managing large projects.

In a statement, Ionescu said he is proud to work in Morocco and to join teams he described as skilled and committed. He said the company wants to turn challenges, including the use of artificial intelligence in networks and services, into opportunities to create more value. He added that the focus will be on listening to customers and delivering services that meet their needs.

Sofrecom, founded in 1966, is a consulting and engineering company that works mainly in the telecom sector. It operates in four continents and focuses on innovation, digital systems, networks, sustainable development and organisational support.

The company has more than 3,000 consultants and engineers from over 25 nationalities, based mainly in France, Morocco, Tunisia and the United Arab Emirates. It aims to support responsible digital growth that is inclusive and environmentally aware.
