The event featured more than 1,000 inventions from 35 countries, judged by international experts and industry partners. UIR’s success highlights the creativity and scientific skill of its researchers.
Two gold medals went to:
-
A dental tool that safely removes broken instruments from root canals, reducing procedure time and protecting tissue.
-
A spiral wind turbine that adjusts speed without electronics, using centrifugal flaps to stay safe in strong winds.
Bronze medals went to:
-
A smart system to monitor chronic respiratory diseases, using sensor data to offer personalised care and early intervention.
-
A method to create waterproof, earthquake-resistant construction materials from local recycled resources. This also earned the Chinese Delegation Prize.
The International University of Rabat said the awards reflect its focus on research that addresses health, environmental, and industrial challenges. The university now holds 734 invention patents, marking six years as one of Africa’s most innovative universities.
