Chinese electric car brand XPENG is opening a new showroom in Casablanca on Wednesday, April 1. The showroom is on Sidi Abderrahmane Boulevard in the Al Matar district, near Casablanca Finance City.
The new space will show off XPENG’s top model, the G9, an all-electric SUV known for its striking design, long range, strong performance, and advanced tech features. The launch is part of SMEIA’s plan to grow XPENG’s presence in Morocco, after it introduced the Jetour T2 earlier this year.
XPENG was founded in 2014 in Guangzhou and is often called the “Tesla of China.” Its G9 SUV runs on the SEPA 2.0 platform, which allows very fast charging – adding up to 200 kilometres of range in just five minutes with the right charger.
SMEIA, which also distributes BMW, MINI, and Land Rover in Morocco, wants to attract customers who want luxury cars without petrol engines. The Casablanca showroom near CFC puts the brand close to business professionals and early adopters likely to switch to electric cars.
Morocco is boosting its EV network and offering incentives for greener transport. Fast-charging stations along key routes like Casablanca-Tangier make it a good time for XPENG to enter the market.
