A group of teenagers kicked off a football match in Casablanca with a special guest cheering them on from the sidelines. Vivo Energy Maroc has started a youth football tournament called “B’9loubna Rab7ine” to help young people feel included and stay connected to education. The event brings together students from the Second Chance School – New Generation and the children of company staff to play in mixed teams.

The matches are taking place at the Ba M’hammed pitch in Sbata. Former Morocco captain Noureddine Naybet joined the event to motivate the 110 players, aged 14 to 16, and encourage confidence and teamwork.

Naybet said: “Football can bring people together and pass on important values, adding he was happy to support an initiative focused on sharing and inclusion.”

The tournament continues a 20-year partnership between Vivo Energy Maroc and L’Heure Joyeuse. Its president, Leila Benhima Cherif, said: “Seeing a football legend with the students shows that success is possible whatever their past challenges.”

Hind Mejjati Alami, the company’s communications and CSR director, said: “Learning does not only happen in classrooms and that sport helps young people grow and overcome obstacles.”

Vivo Energy Maroc distributes Shell fuels and Butagaz gas in Morocco through more than 470 service stations. The company says its social work focuses on education, renewable energy, health and road safety.
