Swissport Morocco is expanding its business in the country’s airports after buying Swiftair Maroc, a company that handles air cargo services at Casablanca’s Mohammed V Airport.
The deal gives Swissport full ownership of Swiftair Maroc, including all of its shares and voting rights.
Swissport already provides passenger, ramp and ground handling services at airports across Morocco. With this acquisition, the company is adding cargo handling to its operations.
Swiftair Maroc specialises in freight and mail handling, security checks, ramp operation supervision and freight forwarding services linked to customs procedures and shipment coordination.
The company is based at Mohammed V Airport, Morocco’s biggest air cargo hub. It operates a 3,700-square-metre warehouse at the airport, including temperature-controlled facilities used for pharmaceuticals and perishable products.
The move strengthens Swissport’s position in a growing part of Morocco’s aviation industry. Demand for air cargo services is being supported by exports from sectors such as automotive manufacturing, aerospace, textiles and agriculture.
Swissport already operates at 16 airports across Morocco. The company also provides executive aviation services in Casablanca, Marrakesh and Tangier, and manages 10 airport lounges under the Aspire brand.
The acquisition is part of Swissport’s broader expansion in Africa and follows a recent investment in airport handling operations in Cape Verde.
