Crédit Agricole du Maroc has launched a new programme to stay connected with its retired employees and make use of their experience long after they leave the workplace.
The initiative, called the Senior Academy, was unveiled during a gathering of former staff on 3 June. The event celebrated the careers of employees who helped build and develop the bank over the years.
The programme aims to support retirees in their new stage of life while giving them opportunities to share their knowledge with younger employees.
“The experience of former employees is a valuable resource that continues to enrich the organisation and fuel its vision for the future,” the bank said.
The launch comes as Morocco’s population continues to age. The country is home to around five million senior citizens, and that number is expected to grow in the coming decades.
Crédit Agricole du Maroc said the Senior Academy will help strengthen ties between generations of employees and ensure that knowledge built up over many years is not lost.
The programme is also linked to the bank’s wider efforts to support older people. Earlier this year, it signed a three-year partnership with Seniors Plus to roll out Tiqqa, a service platform designed to help seniors with healthcare, daily tasks and administrative support through a mix of digital tools and human assistance.
The bank plans to offer the service to its retirees and the elderly relatives of current employees. It also hopes to expand the model more broadly across Morocco’s banking sector.
Founded more than 65 years ago, Crédit Agricole du Maroc says the new academy is part of its efforts to preserve institutional knowledge and pass valuable expertise on to future generations.
