Maydane Capital has named Rachid Laraki as its new Investment Director as the company expands its real estate business. He will lead the company’s real estate investment work. His role includes finding new investment opportunities, buying and selling properties, and managing investment deals from start to finish.
Laraki was previously Projects Director at Maydane. Before joining the company, he worked in EY’s real estate team.
The appointment comes after a major change for the group. At the end of 2025, Maydane Reim merged with BMCE Capital Real Estate. As part of the deal, Bank of Africa became a shareholder alongside AXA Assurance Maroc.
Maydane Reim is licensed by Morocco’s capital markets regulator to manage real estate investment funds, known as OPCIs.
The group also includes Maydane Immobilier, which develops office buildings and housing projects. Its projects include Casa Business Towers, Shift Tower and Lurbain Casa Anfa.
Laraki’s new role moves him from managing projects to leading investment decisions. His experience at Maydane gives him a good understanding of property development, while his time at EY gave him experience in financial planning, due diligence and property valuation.
The company is expected to buy more income-generating properties, including office buildings, healthcare facilities and schools, to grow its OPCI funds.
It is also expected to sell some older assets to raise money for new projects and improve the way it manages deals as it works with more institutional investors, including insurance companies and pension funds.
